Spro

UX Web Design | Project in Progress…

Overview

Spro is platform for tracking specialty coffee, allowing users to build a personal coffee library, discover new roasters, and share feedback on products. Their aim was to optimize user experience for users. The client was interested in exploring design iterations in order to improve user experience, minimize cognitive load, and improve user flow. To address key user pain points and align with the client’s broader goal of optimized user engagement, I delivered a series of targeted design solutions focused on clarity, accessibility, and intuition.

Solutions

Flavor Space Page

Spro being a new business, it was critical to focus on the elements that make the space unique. Flavor Space being an exciting, interactive experience, I wanted to find ways to elevate the page. Through restructuring visual hierarchy, users are given a more intuitive experience for what could otherwise be a confusing structure. Encouraging curiosity and understanding encourages usage and emphasizes the mission of the business.

Note: Designs have yet to be integrated into the working prototype, so the original hover/click effects for the cluster are disabled below. A simple click effect is in place to mimic the original effects.

Before

Confusing Visuals

Overwhelming Cognitive Load

After

Lessened Cognitive Load

Elevated Visual Hierarchy

Clearer Instructions

Flavor Space and developing a coffee library being key and unique features to Spro, I wanted to clarify these elements.

Product Pages

With products being the foundation of Spro, I wanted to ensure product pages are intuitive, fun, and easily digestible. Through a minor restructuring of frames and pills, the user can more easily skim over products and understand key elements.

Before

Heavy Cognitive Load

Unclear Visual Hierarchy

Multiple Call To Actions

After

Call To Action & Tag Distinction

Reiterated Visual Hierarchy

Smoother User Flow
